Amendment Announcements

No further amendments are possible before reorganization.

New bylaws shall be adopted at the the December 18th, 2008 reorganization meeting.

The following October 2008 Amendments against the May 8, 2007 version of the bylaws were introduced at the October 12, 2008 general meeting, and were considered at the November 13, 2008 general meeting. Amendments 24 and 25 both passed.

Delete Bullet 2: "All offices for which officers are being elected are to be listed on one ballot."

May 8, 2008

The following April 2008 Amendments against the April 12, 2007 version of the bylaws were introduced at the April 10, 2008 general meeting, and were considered at the May 8, 2008 general meeting. Amendment 22 passed, and Amendment 23 failed.

Amendment 22: PASSED

Section 2: Associate Membership
Subsection 1: An Associate membership in the 44th is open to any person that meets all of the following
•  Has previously attended at least one 44th LD meeting or caucus in the last 12 months.

Insert "or caucus" following "meeting".

Comment: Allows voters who attend a legislative district caucus to become members.

June 12, 2008

The following amendment to our Policies and Procedures was to have been considered at the June 14th Meeting, but was neither moved nor adopted. It is abeyant.

Proposed Policies and Procedures Amendment 21:

Insert the following text as a new numbered item, immediately before "Amendment"

Policy regarding use of electronic resources by unendorsed candidates

Unendorsed candidates, and campaigns for or against specific ballot issues, are not permitted to use the email and web resources of the 44th LD Democrats for campaigning, except to announce their candidacy, and to announce a campaign kickoff event. Any such messages are to be accompanied with a disclaimer stating that the candidate or campaign is not endorsed by the 44th LD Democrats. Presidential campaigns are exempt, but the candidate must be a declared Democratic candidate for President.

March 2007 amendments to the December 2006 Bylaws

The following March 2007 Amendments against the December 14th, 2006 version of the bylaws were introduced at the March, 2007 general meeting, and passed at the April meeting: 13, 14, 18, 19, and 20.

August 2006 amendments to the July 2006 Bylaws.

Of the August amendments to the July 13th version of the bylaws, some passed, some failed, and others were not considered due to time. Details are in the minutes of the August 10, 2006 general meeting.

The remainder of the August amendments to the August 9th version of the bylaws have been considered by the new executive board and the new Bylaws committee.

June 2006 amendments to May 2006 Bylaws

The following June amendments to the May 11, 2006 version of the bylaws were originally proposed for the general meeting in June 2006.

Some of these amendments passed at the July 13, 2006 general meeting. The remainder of these amendments either failed, were withdrawn, or have been rolled into the new set of amendments slated for consideration at the August general meeting.

Some of the following August amendments to the July 13, 2006 version of the bylaws were proposed for the August 2006 general meeeting. Some amendments passed, failed, were amended, and some amendments were left unproposed. This work resulted in the current August 9th version of the bylaws.
